Build Your Own Site...
You can build your own site and save a lot of money instead of paying someone else to do it. Of course you will need
to consider your learning curve, but if you can follow directions, then you can build your own
website.
Building a website, or online business, can be a daunting task and even
overwhelming to the beginner because there are so many choices to make.
The internet is glutted with millions of "pretty" and flashy websites that
are practically invisible to people searching for products and services because the search engines (Google, Bing,
Yahoo, etc.) don't index or see these sites.
The webmasters that built these "invisible websites" don't understand or care
about the basics of search engine optimization (SEO) which includes thorough keyword research and serving
good content to the search engines.
Sadly, many of these individuals and companies spent thousands and thousands
of dollars on these useless websites.
And if you are building your own website, you don't want to spend money and
time building a site that doesn't bring you the kind of traffic that is interested in what you are selling,
right?
Of course not. Instead, you want an attractive and easy to
navigate website that draws lots of traffic, because traffic means sales, and sales means money in
your pocket.
We remember how overwhelming it was to build our own first site - so
here are some excellent state-of-the-art resources
and SUPER EASY TO USE tools that we consider to be absolutely essential. In fact, we use all of
these on a regular basis...
Free Keyword Research
Tool: People type into search engines like Google to find things. You must find out
what the words are that will bring people to your website. For example, if you are selling XYZ
Widgets, then you will need to research and find out what all the different and appropriate variations of
the keyword "XYZ Widgets" are...and then build pages for your site that use those keywords. You can
pay to advertise your site, but that still requires keyword research, but you should know that free search
engine traffic (also known as natural or organic search engine traffic) is the best and highest quality traffic
you can get. I could show you an expensive $200.00 keyword research tool, but this free keyword research tool is better. :-)
Register a Domain Name: A domain name is the name of your website, like: www.MyWebSite.com. You will need to
register your domain name with what is known as a domain registrar. For the sake of SEO (search engine
optimization), some search engines might rank your site a little better if you include keywords in your
domain name that are
appropriate to the theme of your web site.
Web Hosting: All websites require a web host. A web
host is an online source that stores all the pages of your website so they can be seen on the
internet. You want your web host to offer all the features you will ever need, and your webhost must
have excellent 24 hours a day - 7 days a week - 365 days a year FREE customer and technical
support.
Website Building
Software: Some website building software programs (or HTML Editors like Dreamweaver),
are difficult to use and take forever to learn. You want a website building program that is super easy to use, and extremely powerful with every possible feature that you
will ever need.
Website Building Course: There are website instructional
courses that are boring and tedious because they are based on using learning how to use complicated
and often out-dated programs. You will want to learn from a web site building program that is fun and will have you building beautiful and functional websites within an hour
or two.
Header Creation Tool: The image you see at the very top of this
website where it says "SpeedWebsiteDesign" is known as a "header." Every website has a header
image. Graphic designers typically charge from $100.00 to $500.00 or more for a header image. We use
and recommend a super easy to use header tool that
will have you building your own beautiful website header within 10 minutes.
Email Autoresponder: Most people searching for products and
services online will come to your site and either buy what you are offering, or they will leave and never come
back. You want to make your site more "sticky" by devising a simple way to keep them coming back...for
two reasons. One reason is to obviously buy what you are offering now -- and the other reason is to
hopefully buy what you sell in the future. One of the best ways to keep them coming back to your site is to
offer a free online newsletter that is automatically sent to them via
email. And that is why you will need an email autoresponder account.
And of course we at SpeedWebsiteDesign.com would be happy to build a website for you.
