Frequently
Asked Questions about Search Engine Optimized

Question:
What is SEO or search engine optimized
websites?
Answer:
SEO is an acronym for "search engine optimized" or "search
engine optimization." Google, Yahoo and MSN are the three most
popular search engines, but Google accounts for about 75% of
all online searches made. To have a search engine optimized
website means that each page of your site features certain
keywords or keyword phrases that are relevant to the type of
product or service you are selling. The way those keywords are
presented on your site is extremely important as far as how
search engine friendly your site will be, or how visible it
will be to potential customers. This means that if your site is
search engine optimized and you are selling widgets, and
someone types the word "widget" or "buy widgets" or "buy cheap
widgets" into any search engine, then it would be your site
that comes up near the front of their search results, thus
bringing you quality relevant traffic that results in more
sales.
Question:
What is the difference between organic or natural traffic and
pay-per-click advertising?
Answer: The
terms 'organic traffic' or 'natural traffic' are synonymous and
merely mean that the visitors to your site are coming due to
the words they typed into a search engine. PPC or pay-per-click
advertising is paid-for search engine traffic meaning that
merchants pay for ads with the hopes that people will click on
them during their searches and come to your website. Organic
(or natural) search engine traffic is the most high quality
traffic you can get because these are people that are doing
searches specific to what your website is about (i.e. what you
are selling). Pay-per-click advertising can be very expensive
but organic traffic is free and highly targeted.
Question: Do you use flash on
your websites?
Answer:
Rarely, and if we do, its used sparingly to call attention to a
"special offer" designed to increase your
sales. If you want flash then honestly we probably
aren't the right people to build your site. Flash really
slows down the loading of a website into your visitors browser.
There is much research to prove that flash causes a
high rate of abandonment because no one wants to wait
around for a slow loading website. However, video can
be excellent for increasing sales as long as it is built
into the site in a way that does not appreciably slow the site
down.
Question: Why do you use the
term "fast" to describe your websites, or the word "Speed" in
the name of your domain
SpeedWebsiteDesign.com?
Answer: As
described in the previous answer, we use the terms fast
and speed because our sites load quickly. We also use
those terms because we can, in most cases, have your site done
very quickly.
Question: Can
I see some examples of your work?
Answer: This
site was obviously created by us, but you can see a few
more examples of
our work here. Please understand that
confidentiality agreements with some of our customers, prohibit

Question: Who
are you?
Answer: Speed Website
Design is a San Diego based business. Among other
projects, we build websites for ourselves and customers around
the world. Many of our sites rank well for the
keywords they target. Experience in sales and marketing has
taught us that building sites with direct response features
that increases sales is much more important than an
"empty" flashy or pretty site that no one ever see's because it
doesn't rank well with search engines. If you
want a website that gets found and increases sales,
then we are probably the right ones for your
project.
